BiblioMaker 6.1 can now be downloaded

BiblioMaker 6.1 can now be downloaded. You will find here some information about this update.

  • The editor for creating import and export templates has been improved.
  • The tasks scheduler has been improved. For instance, a task can be linked to a user account and this user receives an alert if the task meets an issue.
  • In the Titles file, three new fields are now available : Media type, Carrier type and Content type. These fields belong to the RDA (Resource and Description Access) cataloguing rules.
  • The catalog of the German National Library (DNB) can now be queried with the SRU protocol in order to download its title records. SRU has several advantages over a query in the standard WebOPAC. Please register by the DNB in order to be able to query its catalog with SRU.
  • A new resource for downloading records from the web is now available : SSB/SBD. For the time being, only public libraries from Kanton Zurich can query this catalog. Please register by the SSB in order to be able to query its catalog.
  • As the Bibliomedia institution has a new library system, the title records delivered by the branches in Solothurn and Lausanne use a new template. Therefore, the import templates Bibliomedia (Lausanne) and Bibliomedia (Solothurn) have been updated. If you had customised these import templates, please customise the new templates again.
  • The template for entering new addresses contains an additional icon displayed near the phone number fields. If you click on one of these icons, the corresponding phone number wil be dialed by your IP phone application.
  • The WebOPAC server is less prone to crashes. Moreover, a mechanism has been developed in order to prevent unwanted stops of the WebOPAC server.
