Cataloguing

Entering titles references is a time-consuming process. This is why the ergonomics of the cataloguing grids are important.

  • Cataloguing of all types of documents: books, reports, DVDs, magazines, digital resources...

  • Entry in many fields is controlled by the system to ensure data consistency and speed up entry

  • Different types of fields: text, long text, numerical, date, picture...

  • Freely definable fields are at your disposal

  • Manual data entry can be accelerated thanks to the additional download of records from the web module

Digital resource

The program manages digital resources such as web addresses, office files, pictures, sound and videos. You associate these resources with records: when a reader consults a record, a simple click on the link pointing to the digital resource displays it on the screen.

Searches

BiblioMaker has several powerful search functions. Here are some examples of criteria you can use:

  • Books by a particular author

  • Novels from which you only remember one word of the title

  • Non-fiction books on a specific topic

  • New acquisitions in the last three months

  • DVDs published by a certain publisher from a certain date onwards

  • All comic strips of a given series

  • Press articles on a specific topic published in a certain journal

  • Readers living in a certain community

  • Readers to whom to send an application for membership renewal

Printing

Numerous pre-defined print formats are available:

  • Catalogues (for lists of new acquisitions or bibliographic lists)

  • Barcode or shelf mark labels

  • List of titles belonging to a publisher's series

  • Inventory list

  • Address labels

  • List of readers with their phone number

  • And many others

Export/import

Export and import templates let you exchange data with other libraries or other software (office, databases). For example, a school library can retrieve student data from the secretary's office and save itself a tedious re-entry of its readers.

Classification

Manage the classification of your library directly in your program. You can add, modify or delete class marks according to your needs and a possible reorganization of your shelves.

The program comes with the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) and other classifications are available on request.

Subject headings

You specify the topics covered by your documents by assigning them subjects headings. Entering these subjects is controlled by the software to keep them consistent and you can create links (references) between subjects to guide users to the most appropriate terms for their search.

Addresses management

Your readers, suppliers and other contacts are all stored in a single address file. There are many sections that describe precisely the necessary information, such as postal and e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and information for statistical purposes: category, date of birth, region, and so on.

Would you like to quickly inform your readers about an animation in your library or a change of opening hours? Simply send them an email with a few clicks.

The program records any contributions from readers and automates the management of subscriptions.
